Old French Hollow Knife Bolster
Wusthof Grand Prix II 8-Inch Hollow-Ground Cook's Knife
From Wusthof's Grand Prix II line, this 8-in. hollow edge chef's knife is similar to the chef's knife, an everyday knife for cutting, slicing, mincing and chopping. The indentations along the edge of the blade help prevent food from sticking as you cut. Each Grand Prix II knife is precision forged of a single blank of high carbon stainless steel, skillfully honed by hand twice. The perfectly balanced cook's knife features a molded handle that is slip resistant and completely hygienic. An update to the original line, the Wusthof Grand Prix II knife offers a more ergonomically designed handle combined with the high quality and contemporary good looks chefs desire..

Help with finding cutlery and block?
A long time ago I lost a set french knives - in my divorce. I am trying to find something similar. The block is unique - it is rectangular, hollow, and stands upright - the knives hang from the hilt into the hollow block - the front is clear so you can see all the knives - a carving board fits into a slot in the back of the block. The knives were incredible, high quiality, and the steak knives had a seperate case. Anyone seen anything like this?

Sorry money can't buy knives.

I've seen blocks, wall magnets, carrying cases, knife sets with a storage block. There is a chain called 'Kitchens' that has some relatively inexpensive, decent quality knives up to, and including Wustoff, Trident, and Hinkle, but those are expensive (even for their cheap stuff), but you get great stuff. I suppose you may have some luck if you look up 'knives' in your yellow pages. Higher end department stores such as Daytons, Bloomingdales, and Von Maur may carry what you are looking for. Obviously you have access to the internet. if you have time, try cheking manufacturors to see where they have outlets.
